Community-Based Economic Development

Community-Based Economic Development (CBED) seeks to build a thriving local and regional community-based economy that embraces and supports the diversity of entrepreneurs and small business owners. In 2008, AHANA (the Inland Northwest's leading minority and small business development organization) merged with Community-Minded Enterprises. CBED expands upon AHANA's mastery of multi-cultural strategic business consulting by leveraging CME's tradition of creating partnerships and collaboration around shared vision, and attraction of national capital to Spokane-area projects.

Community-Based Economic Development's overall strategic priorities include:

Projects:

AHANA
Minority and small business support, planning, and neighborhood development. Facilitator of annual Unity in the Community multi-cultural event.

Sustainable Communities Action Plan
A state-wide, multi-ethnic, collaborative partnership based upon the Community-Minded Enterprises model.  Provides technical assistance and capacity building services.
