Community-Minded Media
"The medium is the message," was a phrase made famous in the 1960s by communications theorist Marshall McLuhan. We believe that Community is the message, but one of the ways to engage full community participation is through accessible media for all.
Community-Minded Media provides digital media strategies and services [link to Video Production and Graphic Design page under Services-see copy below] for creating community sustainability. We've provided ways for library patrons in Idaho and youth in Ecuador to use digital media for self expression and to connect with other cultures and places. Through the power of the Internet's web streaming and social networking, we can share community-building stories within a geographic area and beyond, actualizing the "global village"… another term coined by McLuhan.
As communication tools are democratized, and local stories and information flow more freely, it is easier to generate local connections and consensus. Community-Minded Media helps make that happen.
