Rwanda Community Medical Team
Community-Minded Enterprises helped to coordinate a team of medical professionals travel to Rwanda in June, 2008, to help strengthen community-based health delivery in Rwandan towns and villages. This team trained Rwandan community health workers in advanced medical and surgical practices and advised in the integration of these practices into a grassroots, community-based delivery system.

Along with the Health Development Initiative (HDI), the team of medical professionals addressed the community with sensitivity to culture, tradition, formal and informal networks, support systems, and belief systems, using the strengths of each community to address the specific health issues of each village.
Community health insurance subscription increased; the number of mothers delivering in health centers increased; mothers' enrollment in the family planning program increased; and the number of new cases of malaria was reduced.
