SUMMARY:Million Girls Moonshot- Culturally Responsive Career Connected Learning for Youth
DESCRIPTION:If you are having technical difficulties registering on the internet\, please call (509)385-2780 for assistance with registration over the phone.\nDates: December 8 and December 15 \nCore Competences: Cultural Competency and Responsiveness\, Families Communities & Schools\, Professional Development & Leadership\, Learning Environment and Curriculum\, Level 4 \nTrainer: Jamie Burns\, Sandy Maldonado\, Leah Irwin \nSTARS: 6 \nDescription: \nYouth deserve programming that is dynamic\, reflects representation from their culture and communities\, and is designed with youth leading the way. Career connected learning opportunities are so important but often the youth can’t see themselves in a lot of STEAM based opportunities because they are not representative of our most marginalized young people. STEAM prominently exist in every community and culture – this training is designed to help widen our lens\, resources\, and project management skills to support developing Career Connected Learning opportunities for under-resourced youth using a decolonized approach and human-centered design. \n\nA few days before the training\, you will receive an email with the link to join the Zoom. This is separate from the automatically-generated email you receive right after registration. If you cannot find the email with the link\, check your junk folder. Sometimes they are sent there. \nWe would like everyone who attends our trainings to have the opportunity to benefit from their learning. If you require accommodations to fully participate\, please contact professionaldevelopment@community-minded.org at least one week in advance of the training.\nTo view training policies\, including the late arrival and cancellation policies\, please click here.
