Participants will learn specific strategies to ensure all voices are heard and respected in the creation of shared agreements\, helping to create a classroom environment that reflects everyone involved. \nWe will explore key attributes of a positive classroom community and ways to engage all children in activities that encourage thinking and communication. Educators will gain tools to promote meaningful back-and-forth interactions with students\, using techniques from the CLASS framework for Pre-K classrooms. DESCRIPTION:Child Care Basics (CCB) is the initial training to meet part of the health and safety requirements for providers working in licensed early learning programs. This 30-hour series prepares early learning professionals to be knowledgeable of child development\, resourceful in planning activities\, skilled in guiding behavior\, and able to maintain healthy environments. Child Care Basics is based on Washington State’s Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals. Interactive learning activities\, video clips\, discussion questions\, and additional resources provide a variety of learning opportunities. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of both childcare center staff and family home childcare providers. \nThis class will take place over one week in-person. Before registering\, please make sure you can attend each day August 5-August 9 from 9:00am-4:00pm. You will not receive credit if you do not attend all 5 days.
