DESCRIPTION:Earlier this year Community-Minded Enterprises was named as a 2023 recipient of an Access to Care grant from Spokane County Health Sciences and Services Authority. \nThanks to this funding\, our Recovery and Support Services team has begun transitioning to an Electronic Health Records system. This system will allow us to obtain licensing and establish a Behavioral Health Clinic to further aid substance abuse recovery in our community. \nAs a final step\, our Recovery and Support Services building will be closed for staff training on September 15-18. We look forward to seeing everyone again on September 19. \n  \n

Join us for this unique learning experience where you will closely examine what trauma-informed care looks like. Come explore the impact of relationships on neurobiology\, learn about the prevalence of different types of trauma\, and improve your ability to integrate trauma-informed practices with children\, families\, and staff. This course will also address self-care and allow you to reflect on how your own thoughts\, feelings\, and behaviors can support regulation and resilience for yourself and those you interact with. You will complete the series better prepared to provide individualized\, responsive care for the children you serve. Our intention is to include time for you to learn\, be heard\, pause\, and reflect in a respectful space that allows personal growth and inner wisdom to emerge. This class is offered free of charge due to special grant funding.  Space is limited in person\, so participants should carefully consider their interests before registering.  Participation requires 8-10 hours of homework and attendance at 8 sessions (Tuesdays).  Every class attendance and homework completion provide 24 hours of credit in MERIT between April- June 2023. Flip It can be used in targeted interventions for a child displaying specific behavioral concerns\, or during every-day minor challenges and conflicts. You must attend both days and will earn 6 STARS hours. \n  \nIf circumstances force our cancellation of in-person classes (or a shift to an online format)\, we will contact those who are registered. SUMMARY:Recovery Coach Training
DESCRIPTION:Recovery Coach Training is designed for those interested in promoting the health and wellness of people with substance abuse disorders. Learn to help remove barriers and obstacles to recovery for those seeking or already in recovery. \n$200 registration fee includes a manual. Scholarships may be available\, please contact Recovery Cafe Spokane for more information. \nThis training is held over four days at the Community-Minded Enterprises Recovery and Support Services Building.  622 E 2nd Ave  Spokane\, WA  99202 \n\nFriday March 17th\, through Monday March 20th\, 2023 8am — 4pm\n\nMeals will not be provided for this training but snack and coffee are available.  There are several meal options in the area. \nIf you have questions or need further assistance\, please contact Eric Hood at (509) 720-9235 or EricH@Community-Minded.org \n  \nThis training is offered by Recovery Café Spokane and the State Opioid Response (SOR). DESCRIPTION:Core Competences: Child Growth and Development\, Ongoing Measures of Child Progress\, Level 2 Trainer: Shawna Glasscock Description: In this training\, program staff will learn how to complete and score screenings. Staff will also learn techniques to share information with parents and  follow up with children’s referrals to local agencies. You must attend both sessions. You must have preschool children in your program and you must work in one of the following counties: Benton\, Franklin\, Walla Walla\, Columbia\, Garfield\, or Asotin. Due to the current circumstances\, this training will be offered on Zoom for a reduced price. A few days before the training\, you will receive an email with the link to join the Zoom. This is separate from the automatically-generated email you receive right after registration. If you cannot find the email with the link\, check your junk folder. Sometimes they are sent there. Venga a examinar la definición más reciente de NAEYC de práctica apropiada para el desarrollo y los principios detrás de ella.
