SUMMARY:Building Classroom Community and Activities to Promote Thinking and Talking
DESCRIPTION:Training for Early Childhood Educators: Building Inclusive Classroom Communities \nThis training is designed to help early childhood educators foster an inclusive and supportive classroom community. Participants will learn specific strategies to ensure all voices are heard and respected in the creation of shared agreements\, helping to create a classroom environment that reflects everyone involved. \nWe will explore key attributes of a positive classroom community and ways to engage all children in activities that encourage thinking and communication. Educators will gain tools to promote meaningful back-and-forth interactions with students\, using techniques from the CLASS framework for Pre-K classrooms. This will include enhancing feedback quality\, developing concepts\, and modeling language to facilitate deeper learning and communication. \nThis is a Level 3 training\, 5 STARS hours will be provided (Interactions: 2 hrs / \nCurriculum & Learning Environment: 3 hrs) \nFriday\, October 18\, 2024 / 8:00am – 2:00pm \nLunch is available and included in this training.  Full attendance is required and partial STARS hours will not be provided. \nTrainer; Lorri Hope

SUMMARY:Let’s Play! Learning to love the ‘M’ in STEM
DESCRIPTION:Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) and Northeast Washington Educational Services District (NEWESD 101)\, in partnership with Washington STEM\, offer engaging professional learning opportunities for early learning educators who teach children from birth to eight years old. \nThis in-person program is designed to create a supportive environment where educators can connect\, learn together\, and apply new knowledge in their family homes and classrooms. Through two three-hour in-person sessions\, participants will explore early numeracy concepts through interactive activities\, books\, and game play. \nYou’ll develop an action plan for implementation\, with time allocated between sessions to put it into practice. Your progress will be documented through photos and notes\, helping refine and enhance teaching strategies. \n\nOctober 19\, 2024 / 9:00am – 12:00pm\nNovember 9\, 2024 / 9:00am – 12:00pm\n\n** Attendance for both sessions is required and partial STAR hours will not be offered. \nThis is a LEVEL 2 training and you will receive 8 STARS or CLOCK hours after completion of this course.
