More Than Child’s Play! Physical Activity in Early Learning Settings

August 23, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Learn fun, inclusive, developmentally appropriate physical activities to do with young children ages 18 months to five years of age.  Training will focus on the connection between physical activity and learning as well as the Early Achievers assessment tools CLASS and ERS.  View videos of young children doing these physical activities and try several yourself. These physical activities require only readily available inexpensive equipment, work well in small spaces, and can be done in family- and center-based child care programs. The simple-to-lead activities help children get the practice they need for proper fundamental movement skill development and are easily incorporated into the busy child care day.

STARS Hours are available for the FREE training.

This is an interactive, hands-on experience.  Dress in your play clothes.

Please note, there are two identical sessions, 9am and 1pm. Register for just one.

Funding for this training and materials are provided by the Washington Department of Early Learning.

Spokane Regional Health District provides individuals with disabilities reasonable accommodation to participate in our classes, events, program and services. Requests may be made three days prior to the event by calling Natalie Tauzin at (509)324-1659.
