Using the acclaimed documentary “Race: The Power of an Illusion,” the Why Race Matters Workshop, led by a multi-racial team of local facilitators, addresses how racial inequities have been built into institutions and structures throughout our country, why it is important to use a racial equity lens, and what we can do to advance racial equity in our organizations and in our community.
This interactive workshop provides a foundation for further racial equity work:
A follow-up workshop will be held later in 2019 to support organizational leaders in taking intentional steps to advance racial equity in their own organizations and in the larger community.
Registration fee is $20 and includes lunch
Scholarships and travel stipends are available. To request, contact Anne Martin at email@example.com.
Organizations are asked to register up to 3 people per organizations and include people who will likely attend the Why Race Matters Workshop and the follow-up workshop this fall.
The registration deadline is September 16.
