Refugee School Impact Program

Helping refugee families prepare their young children for success in school and beyond.

Support for the first steps at home, in school, and in a new community.

Our Early Refugee School Impact program helps refugee and immigrant families with young children take important steps toward school readiness. Children build early learning and social skills through engaging activities, while parents learn practical ways to support development at home.

How We Work Together
Through everyday activities and one-on-one guidance, families and staff work together to build routines, access resources, and prepare for what’s next.

Group-based early learning activities
Children and caregivers participate in fun, guided activities that support school readiness and social development.

Parent education and support
Families learn simple, practical ways to support their child’s growth and learning at home.

One-on-one family navigation
A trained Navigator helps each family understand their options and make a plan that fits their goals.

Preschool and child care enrollment help
Support with finding and enrolling in programs like ECEAP, Head Start, or licensed child care.

Developmental screenings (ASQ)
Tools that help families check on their child’s development and identify any areas needing extra support.

Referrals to other services
Connection to resources like housing, food, health care, English classes, and job support based on each family’s needs.
