Understanding Challenging Behavior: From Why to What’s Next

Challenging behavior is communication, but understanding what a child is trying to communicate isn’t always easy. In this interactive training, participants will explore the four functions of behavior, the ABCs of behavior to identify patterns, and learn practical, relationship-based strategies to support positive behavior.

Participants will also practice creating SMART behavior support goals that promote self-regulation, social-emotional development, and positive behavior change.

Aligned with Washington WAC, ECEAP Performance Standards, and Early Achievers expectations, this training supports effective behavior guidance, expulsion prevention, and responsive teaching practices.
