Enhancing Family Partnerships
Enhancing Family Partnerships: “Parent involvement in education is crucial. No matter their income or background, students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.”
National Coalition for Parent Involvement in education. 2006. Research Review and Resources. Retrieved from www.ncpie.org/WhatsHappening/researchJanuary2006.cfm.
The research is clear; parent involvement is critical to children’s educational success. Explore strategies for managing difficult conversations, understanding cultural and societal influences that affect families and how to support them, as well as improved overall communication and relationship building. Participants will engage in group activities, small and large group discussion and gain valuable resources to increase parent engagement, foster stronger relationships and enhance partnerships for the benefit of children in their care.
