Understanding children as individuals helps teachers provide meaningful, relevant and respectful learning experiences in the classroom as well as executive function skills as another key aspect of the action/expression part of the Universal Design for Learning framework. How important is the development of self-regulation skills needed for children needed for children to be active learners and execute tasks on their own.
