Community-Minded Enterprises Secures Building Purchase with $1.75 Million Grant from Washington State Department of Commerce
Spokane, WA – [October 24, 2024] – Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) is excited to announce the purchase of its current facility at 2001 N Division, made possible through a generous Behavioral Health Capital facilities grant of $1,754,737 from the Washington State Department of Commerce. We are deeply grateful for the support from the Commerce Department. The anticipated closing date for the purchase is November 14, 2024, with renovations scheduled for mid-December. CME has secured additional financing for this project through Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU). CME is currently soliciting bids from local contractors to complete the renovation. This first-ever facilities purchase is a significant milestone in the organization’s growth.
With the acquisition of the building, CME will further enhance its capacity to deliver integrated services under one roof, making it easier for clients to access comprehensive care and support.
CME’s integrated approach is set to revolutionize our community’s health and well-being. It will expand our Behavioral Health and Recovery Support Services alongside existing Early Learning and Family Support programs. This holistic, person-centered model of care is designed to serve the whole person and their family to reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on children in the community. We are excited about the positive changes this will bring.
“Our goal is to create a seamless, supportive environment for families and individuals facing complex challenges, from early childhood education to recovery services,” said John Hindman, Chief Executive Officer. “This building purchase allows us to deepen our commitment to serving our community and enhancing the well-being of those who rely on our services.”
The expanded facility will include a dedicated team of Behavioral Health Professionals who will provide crucial recovery support to individuals in need. Renovations will ensure the space is equipped to meet the growing demand for integrated health and social services in our community. CME anticipates adding up to 12 additional staff members once the renovations are completed.
CME will continue to operate the Recovery Café Spokane, the State Opioid Respond, and the State Alcohol Block Grant programs from their existing location at 622 E 2nd Ave.
In addition to its N Division location, CME operates five other locations across Spokane and Pasco, serving Eastern Washington. The Washington State Department of Commerce grant underscores the importance of CME’s work in the region. It highlights the ongoing need for accessible, integrated support services for people and their families.
